Pamela Gramet, PhD, PT - Associate Professor Emeritus
With your help, we will raise funds to support a scholarship endowment in honor of Dr. Pamela Gramet, a noted Physical Therapy faculty member at Upstate Medical University. Our initial goal is to raise $10,000, which will allow the creation of the endowment which will support a named scholarship to be given each year.
These words are a hallmark of the physical therapy profession. This scholarship will acknowledge students who exhibit these qualities to the highest degree. This award will be given to a physical therapy student in his or her last year of the program who best exemplifies the core values of compassion and caring in both the clinical and classroom settings.
Dr. Gramet, Associate Professor Emeritus, has devoted her academic career to promoting and developing these values among students through her leadership, teaching, mentoring, and involvement in clinical education. In her 33 years as a member of the Upstate faculty, Dr. Gramet served as Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy for 12 years, expanding the program from a bachelor’s to a master’s, culminating in today’s doctoral program. She has earned a national reputation as a leader in her field — including her work on a standardized clinical performance tool in use throughout North America and as a coauthor of a textbook on teaching and learning — and has received many honors both from within Upstate and from the community and the profession.
