Syracuse’s premier lip sync charity event – SYRACUSE SYNC – was held May 30 at the Palace Theatre to benefit the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital Spina Bifida Clinic at the Center for Development, Behavior and Genetics. Event organizers presented proceeds of $3,851 to The Upstate Foundation.
The event was held in honor of third grader Julia Wilsch, who is a patient at the center. The Upstate Foundation hosted its annual Upstate Open golf tournament July 24 and it was hard to miss the support of Solvay Bank. The financial institution was the event’s presenting sponsor and fielded a terrific team of golfers. The Upstate Open, held at Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville, raised more than $160,000 to support the expansion of Upstate’s pediatric emergency department.
